Hello lovelies! I've been on a far too lengthy hiatus, but I needed some time to collect myself after the holidays, get some housework done, and start a fitness routine for myself. It's been nice to have a break but now time to get back to my blogging goodness.:)
Today I will be reviewing the new Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous liquid foundation. It's been getting some pretty dang positive reviews on blogs and Youtube but I though I'd still share my thoughts with you al! So here we go...
Covergirl's Ready, Set, Gorgeous! liquid foundation is part of a three-piece line containing it, a powder foundation, and a concealer. I only picked up the liquid foundation because I don't use powder foundations, ever, they don't get along with my large pores in the nose-area. Also, I've heard the concealer is light-coverage, and I have some heavy-duty undereye darkness, so that was a pass for me as well.
This foundation retails for about $6.99 at most retailers (although I've seen it as expensive as $8.99 at RiteAid) and is available at major retailers including, but not limited to: Ulta, Target, Walmart, Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS, etc. It all depends on where you live.
Packaging: This foundation comes in a generic squeeze tube, it's sleek and stands nicely on my vanity without looking cluttered. I am also quite fond of the labeling, the pink and font style are very cute and girly. 9/10
Application: When applying this foundation I find it blends out the best and looks to most flawless when using my Beauty Blender dupe. I don't like using my fingers, it makes my hands feel dirty, which I can't stand. I tried using a brush and it worked well but I just prefer the perfect coverage and finish my Beauty Blender leaves. It's a runny consistency and feels quite pleasant on the skin even pre-blending. 10/10
Coverage: This foundation, I find, has medium, very buildable, coverage. It leaves a very natural finish, matte but not flat, I can build it up on my redder nose/cheek area without looking even the tiniest bit cakey! It covers my imperfections very nicely and it really is my perfect amount of coverage. For people with light undereye bags this could probably be used as a foundation and concealer. Color me impressed! 9.5/10
Wear: Applied with a Beauty Blender, no primer over my normal everyday moisturizer (with SPF, if that matters), it will wear a good 10 hours with only slight fading around the tip of my nose area where I tend to get oily. I will most certainly update this review once it gets hotter here this summer, since Arizona heat will definitely put it to the test! I think people with dry skin might want a moisturizing primer under this foundation but it's not matte enough for it to cling to dry patches. Oily skinned people will want to set this with a powder but it does retain its matte-ness quite well, so there shouldn't be any big issues there. 9/10
Overall: I think this foundation could be a real crowd-pleaser, it can provide wonderful coverage, great wear time, and provides a nice natural-but not flat-finish. I highly reccomend this foundation, it's definitely worth the $7. So if you're within a five-mile-radius of a CVS, Rite Aid, or Walgreens, run, don't walk, to pick this baby up! 9.5/10
