Merry Christmas Eve!! We are all so excited over here, although it's very odd not being freezing/snowed in this time of year. I almost feel like it's just a rumor that it's Christmas time and in reality it's the middle of summer (like it feels like).
I love Christmas so much, and this year having baby girl around makes all the festivities even more exciting! McKenzie turned 4 months old on the 22nd and she is getting big so quickly, it's astounding. She's so so so close to rolling over (tummy-to-back), although she has rolled back-to-tummy twice in her sleep but can't do it consciously...yet. She will stand up completely straight and take about four steps forward so long as we help her balance by holding under her arms. She has been kicking up. a. storm. Which is just about the second most adorable thing she's doing lately, I love her flurries of kicks! On occasion if I kiss her cheeks like a crazy woman or blow raspberries on her belly she'll actually laugh (yes, bold, italics, and underlined. It's that cute). Not a little giggle or smirk or chuckle but a full bellies kind of sqeeky laugh! I love love love that girl.
We have recently started trying to introduce solids and have been giving her a couple teaspoons of rice cereal after her morning bottle. She absolutely loves it, and surprisingly is really good at getting it off the spoon, into her mouth (keeping it there), and swolloing. That's quite surprising considering the last time we attempted to just get her to feel the spoon on her gums/lips she cried her little head off. I'm one proud mommy!
Tonight we plan on going to midnight mass, which will be a first for me and I'm sure Mckenzie will sleep right through it. I cannot wait to get up ealier tomorrow morning and eat Christmas cookies while unwrapping gifts, surely lots of baby clothes await!
I hope you all have wonderful Christmases and whatever other holiday you may celebrate! Lots of holiday cheer your way!:)
